Today I woke up to a beautiful morning. Spring is coming and now it's warm enough here to open up the windows and let in some fresh air. Before K left for work this morning, he brought me a glass of icy water and gave me a kiss goodbye. I am grateful everyday to be with someone so thoughtful. After these years we have spent together, we have only grown closer. He's my best friend and I am happy we are finally getting married.
Yesterday we put together the weber charcoal grill my parents gave us for Christmas. K got some starter stuff and coal and we grilled some hot dogs. We always make Chicago style with a fat pickle spear across the hotdog. So yummy. I can not wait for summer to come so that we can grill everyday. There is a recipe for mashed sweet potatoes and onions that I am excited about trying.

Rice Pudding
My very first blog post!
I've had the recipe for this rice pudding for awhile and every time I make it my fiance practically inhales it. I have tried many rice pudding recipes and this one is the easiest and by far the most delicious.
Ingredients:
Step 1: Boil water; add rice, stir occasionally and simmer for 15 minutes.
Step 2: Add milk and simmer 30 minutes longer, stirring often.
Step 3: Mix flour with 4 tablespoons water.
Step 4: Slowly stir in the flour and water mixture into the pudding.
Step 5: Add sugar and simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Step 6: Remove from heat, add vanilla and/or lemon rind.
Step 7: Sprinkle as much cinnamon as you want on top.
When you are finished it's creamy, custardy, rice pudding goodness. Mmmmm...
I have been planning my wedding, which is going to be held in August at Mackinac Island. I found what I believe to be the perfect dress. It's airy, summery and perfect for an outdoor wedding overlooking the lake and Mackinac Bridge.
I am in love with it. I am also inspired by one of my favorite designers, Topsy Turvy to make a hair piece for myself.
These are the two pieces from the design I loved but they are out of my budget so I came up with a cheap, easy way to replicate this designers look that I LOVE so much.
I bought a sequined butterfly applique off of ebay for $2.50
I plan to take a trip to Hobby Lobby to find some rhinestones and I can get a barrette from the CVS pharmacy. I also want to order some mini peacock feathers from a guy who breeds them. He charges $3.50 for a dozen.
I think I want to attach three peacock feathers to the top of the butterfly and glue some rhinestones onto the feathers like in the first hairpiece design I like.
All for under $10
I'll post pictures once I get all the materials and make it.
